HELP THE CANTIN FAMILY
Many of you have asked if the Cantin family needs anything other than meals. They have asked for gift cards so they can replace basics. They are now connected with the Santa Barbara Support Network which matches families with gift cards and any other needs. The Cantins are family #37 (to protect their privacy). However, donors are encouraged to send notes or cards with their gifts. The link is  here Scroll down to the bottom to to find #37!

As many of you know, Abe Powell is leading the charge on the volunteer crew. We will not be organizing an official SBMS work party, but if you would like to volunteer on an individual basis, please visit the website:  www.santabarbarabucketbrigade.org

NEWS FROM SBMS
2018-19 ENROLLMENT CONTRACTS
You should be receiving your 2018-19 Enrollment Contracts in the mail.  Don't forget that we need them signed and returned with the $1,000 deposit to the Business Office by  Friday, February 23, in order to hold your child's spot. We have a large group of new applications for next year and expect to fill every spot, so be sure not to miss getting your child's contract signed and returned with the deposit.

Although the $1,000 deposit is nonrefundable, we understand that some of our students are applying for academy positions in the local high schools and that the dates for academy notification of acceptance may happen after the  February 23rd deadline. If this is your child's situation, please contact Maida in the business office to discuss ( [email protected] or 682-2989 ext. 112). SBMS will offer flexibility in our refund policy for this situation only and expect that once the academy notification date has passed, SBMS will be notified  within 3 days regarding any change of decision regarding your child's 2018-19 enrollment.

Please contact Maida with any questions about Financial Aid allocations or additional payment plan options if you need one that is more forgiving.

GLASSES MISSING - DID YOU PICK UP?
Did you pick up a pair of glasses from the office...and perhaps it's the wrong pair? A parent misplaced her glasses on campus, but they were accidentally picked up by someone else. If you have a pair of glasses that need to find their home, please email Susan here.

MOUNTAINEERING NEEDS GEAR FOR TRIP
The Mountaineering Expedition is looking for ski/hiking poles and snow shoes. Please contact Victor if you have some to donate.

TEEM PRESS GOES TO SBIFF!
The SBMS Teen Press has been on duty covering the Santa Barbara International Film Festival as accredited reporters. This is Festival #33, Teen Press Team 38, and the 12th year of the TEEN PRESS. One 6th grader, five 7th graders, one new 8th grader, and three veteran reporter 9th graders have been interviewing actors, directors, producers and filmmakers of all stripes (think 10-10-10), as well as award winners on the red carpet for the last week, with 3 days to go. Catch their exploits on the  SBMS Teen Press YouTube  channel

PLEASE LABEL ALL ITEMS GOING ON THE MARCH TRIP
Buying new equipment for the March trips?  Take a few minutes to write your child's name on EVERYTHING going on a trip so they will be reunited with lost items fast and you won't have to buy an item twice! Looking for washable name labels? Two options are here and here.
