In Memoriam
John C. Hammerle
1931 - 2018
The Downtown Indiana community was saddened to learn of the passing of John "Jack" Hammerle on February 7. The owner and operator of the One Hour Downtown Dry Cleaners on Philadelphia Street for 50 years, Mr. Hammerle was very active in the community and served on many boards. He was also a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Mr. Hammerle is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charline, his daughters and grandchildren.

In honor of Black History Month, the NAACP Indiana County and the Center for Community Growth will present the PBS documentary "Slavery by Another Name" on Friday, February 23, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church (285 Twolick Drive, Indiana).
 

LIVE MUSIC with Namie Louder & Will Gomez at Artists Hand Gallery & Espresso Bar - Friday, Feb. 16, 6:00 pm - 8:00 PM. Will and Namie are a lively, acoustic duo from Johnstown, PA. "Philadelphia Story" is the matinee at the Jimmy Stewart Museum this weekend February 17 & 18 at 1 PM. Starring Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. Free admission for members, adults $9; seniors, military and students with ID $8; children 7 - 17 $7; and children under 7 free.

Basketball Double Header - The IUP Women's and Men's Basketball teams are back home to take on the Vulcans of Cal U on Feb. 17, 5:30 PM, Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Both games will feature a Make-a-Wish presentation at halftime. All attendees will have a chance to contribute to the Make-a-Wish Foundation during the games. Tickets here
