We are happy to announce that the window for submitting breakout proposals is now open.

The heart of the AESA Annual Conference is the opportunity to hear what your colleagues across the country are doing in terms of programs and services.  We do this through one-hour breakout sessions.

For 2015, the conference theme is "Get Rid of the Noise and Listen to the Music".  The strands are College and Career Readiness, ESA Board Leadership, STEM, and an open category.   More information on each of these strands will be found in the submissions program.

We hope that you will want to submit a proposal to present a breakout session.  For more information and to submit your proposal, please click here.

All proposals must be submitted by 12:00 midnight (EDT) on May 8, 2015.   Questions should be addressed to

New CEO Orientation
AESA has offered professional development opportunities for new or newer CEOs for the past five years.  This has proven to be a very worthwhile experience for the folks that have attended as they have explored the history of ESAs, obtained a grasp of the challenges facing ESAs, and had the opportunity to share some of their most pressing leadership questions.  It has also provided the opportunity for participants to begin to build their professional network of ESA leaders.  We are once again holding this leadership professional development on May 11-13th in Cincinnati, OH. If you or someone you know could benefit from this unique learning experience  check out the flyer and registration information.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
The Federal Trade Commission has updated its advisory about how to deal with COPPA issues.  Given the discussions going on all around the country about privacy, this is a timely release.  You can read the entire document  here.

YOOZ - AESA's Newest Business Member
Today, school districts and educational institutions across the country are looking at ways to drive cost savings and process improvement.  Budget cuts have created huge problems for public schools in recent years.  Less funding means smaller staffs, fewer resources, and a low number of services for students.

Yooz recognizes these challenges and are here to help. Yooz ( www.justyoozit.com ) is the only cloud-based, end-to-end AP solution that integrates seamlessly with any financial system, ERP, and accounting package.  Our product automates everything from receipt of invoice and approval workflow, all the way to producing the actual payments, and best of all, generating a monthly rebate of approximately $2-$3 per student in the school district.

Yooz Intelligent Document Recognition technology allows you to scale by up to 100% with the same staff.  No more data entry! No more sending paper invoices around for review/approval and creating a revenue stream monthly for the school district.  Yooz is helping school districts:
  1. Reduce processing costs by more than 70%
  2. Improve security and traceability
  3. Increase the number of invoices processed by over a 100%
  4. Prevent wasted time with lost documents
  5. Generate revenue monthly

Yooz is proud to be a business member of AESA and looks forward to helping the AESA members and school districts they support. With that we will be hosting free upcoming webinars to share the value Yooz provides and a brief demo of our solution.
