Correctional Officers get trained to design healthy workplace solutions
Connecticut DOC trainees

CT Department of Corrections staff attended a 6-hour training with CPH-NEW in January. The training focused on facilitation skills and how to use the CPH-NEW Intervention Design and Analysis Scorecard (IDEAS Tool). DOC staff will use their new skills and knowledge to design interventions at their work sites to improve officer health and well-being.

Welcome new CPH-NEW Personnel!
Bill Shaw, PhD
Bill is the Director of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at UConn Health. His research focus is work-related musculoskeletal disorders, return-to-work, pain management,  psychosocial and workplace factors in work disability, and employer disability prevention policies.  He will assist with CPH-NEW outcomes evaluation and outreach. 
Matt Brennan, MPH
Matt is a Research Associate in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at UConn Health.  He is the Project Manager for the HITEC III project: Health Improvements Through Employee Control for Correctional Officers. Matt's prior work focused on  community-based research in addiction disorders, medication adherence and exercise reinforcement.
