Tobacco Opponents Win One, Lose One in State
On Feb. 12, Duluth became the latest Minnesota city to vote to restrict the sales of menthol and other flavored tobacco products to adult-only tobacco shops. It joins St. Louis Park, Robbinsdale, St. Paul and Minneapolis in this effort. Read more here.

Deadline Nears for Med students, Residents and Fellows Poster Program
Minnesota Medicine is inviting medical students, residents and fellows to submit abstracts of original research or clinical vignettes by Feb. 28. The submissions demonstrating appropriate quality will be selected for publication in the magazine and authors will be invited to present their work in a poster session at the MMA's 2018 Annual Conference in St. Paul. Submissions should be no longer than 500 words plus references. Research abstracts should include a brief description of the research problem, methodology and results, and a discussion of the findings. Clinical vignettes should include a description of the case, the diagnosis and treatment approach, and a discussion of the implications of the case. Submit your abstracts and vignettes here. Registration Now Open for Day at the Capitol
Registration is now open for the MMA's 2018 Day at the Capitol, which takes place on March 14. It's a fantastic opportunity to get directly involved in the advocacy process at the Capitol and meet with state legislators.
