George Horvat's Quick Response to Provide Meals at MIA and FLL During Hurricane Irma
AMI's George Horvat received a call from AA
to see if AMI could help brainstorm a way for AA to feed 1,000 airport staff in MIA and FLL hungry from a long weekend dealing with Hurricane Irma. AA had already exhausted their stock of Bento boxes, from AMI supplier Buddy's, the day before. George contacted Village Baking Co for assistance. They agreed to produce 1,000 breakfast muffins and 2,000 artisan sandwiches (lunch and dinner), and had them delivered to the Dallas caterer within 24hrs of the initial call. Due to George Horvat's quick response, AA was able to provide 6000 meals and support to over 1000 employees and volunteers in MIA and FLL affected by Hurricane Irma.
