Neighborhood Changes
Hood Park is going to be undergoing major changes in the future. The proposed project consists of the construction of a mixed-use building that will include a structured four level parking garage for up to 990 vehicles  and approximately 75,000 square feet of ground floor entertainment, retail, and restaurant space. It will be located on an approximately 98,150 square foot portion of the existing 20-acre site known as Hood Park in Charlestown.

Written comments from city departments, public agencies, elected officials, and the general public should be submitted to Raul Duverge by February 1, 2018 via email at [email protected]

Partnering with BPD
to Prevent Opioid Overdose
(L-R: Shannon Lundin, Linda Stanford)

Shannon Lundin, our Community Outreach Coordinator, is partnering with the Boston Police Department's Opioid Overdose Squad to respond to Charlestown related overdoses.

The Opioid Overdose Squad is an initiative through the Boston Police Department that began in April 2016 and is under the direction of Sergeant Kenneth Conley.

Officer Linda Stanford receives daily reports of multiple fatal/non-fatal overdose calls in the Boston area.

Whenever a report is tied to Charlestown, Linda and Shannon respond to the affected individuals and family members, offering appropriate supports and resources such as support groups, needle exchanges, inpatient and outpatient options and providing overdose reversing medication.
