Lent 2018
Palm Crosses
For those of you who saved your Palm Cross from Palm Sunday 2017, bring your saved cross to the church office and place it in the Palm Cross basket provided for them. These old crosses will be burned to provide the ashes for our Ash Wednesday service on February 14, 2018.
How will you grow?
Lent is often a time in our Christian year when we think about "giving something up". And to be sure, sacrificing and fasting are faithful spiritual disciplines. But the goal of giving something up is to give God room to grow in you! So our challenge for 2018 is- how will you grow?

We want to challenge you, instead of, or in addition to, giving something up for Lent take on one or more of these challenges and commit to growing in your faith!

You can commit to:
  • being in worship every Sunday throughout Lent (February 17- March 25)
  • joining a small group or Sunday school class
  • joining a committee or volunteering in a ministry area
You can turn in your Lent Commitment Card the next three Sundays leading up to Ash Wednesday (the start of Lent) or you can go online here to log your commitment!

Be in prayer this week about how you want to commit yourself to growing in God this year!
Where are you connected?
Our Youth who attended The Rise
Thank you for your prayers!
18 pizzas, 8 gallons of lemonade, 9 dozen donuts, 200 water bottles, 2 birthday celebrations and too many snacks to count, the 2018 Rise weekend has come to a successful finish! It may be the end to the weekend but our prayer is that we will carry The Rise throughout the year. We choose to be present with God!

Faith Matters Worship Meeting
It takes a lot of people with all of the gifts God has given us to make worship happen each week! If you want to use your gifts for God's glory in the Faith Matters worship service please come to our meeting on Sunday, February 4th at Noon in the Faith Center. Lunch will be provided!! We will talk about everything from praise band, to a/v teams, to ushers and greeters. But we will also dream about what we can do if we have YOUR help!

Our church needs some good men and women willing to answer the phone, greet visitors, and take reservations for different classes or events. Stuffing envelopes for mailing along with other projects might also be needed. You do not need do work on the computer. I have several Thursday and Friday openings that would be wonderful for a regular volunteer to come in from 12:30-5 p.m. If you would rather not come on regular day, I have a need for folks who are willing to be a substitute. You would be called when someone else is out because of sickness or travel plans. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your church family as well as provide a needed service for your church.
Please call Joan at 903-743-4463 if you can help out!
