Shabbat Matters with Rabbi Sid: Biblical Wisdom and Contemporary Living at 9:45 AM in the Double Classroom
(Series concludes February 24th)

It is commonplace to say that the Bible provides guidance for modern living. But in what way is this really true? Most people haven't a clue. The class explores how Biblical stories provide guidance to three issues that human beings have been struggling with since the dawn of civilization. The class includes some presentation from Rabbi Sid, working in chavruta (learning pairs) with a prompt question and group discussion. This year's themes is: The origins of human violence, Calling, vocation and "God", and Family conflict. The class will be using original sources in translation. The additional text will be our own life experiences.
