Presents

A Comprehensive
and Sensible Approach to
SAFETY and SECURITY for PLACES OF WORSHIP

FEBRUARY 26-27, 2018
LEXINGTON PARK, MARYLAND
_____________________________________________________
TOPIC:
Safety and Security is becoming increasingly important for Places of Worship and Faith-based Social Service Providers. From acts of violence and vandalism to disruption of church services, there has been a steady increase in security threats to places of worship across the country. Churches today simply must be prepared for a variety of threats and crisis situations, such as medical emergencies, domestic violence, child care protection, sexual abuse, disruptive or violent visitors, theft, embezzlement, etc. What do you do? Are you prepared?

The FBI, Department of Homeland Security and U.S. State Department have said that "Places of Worship and Faith Communities are considered "Soft Targets". Places of Worship and Faith-Based Communities must collaborate with law enforcement personnel to be prepared for the worst case scenario. These are critical operational issues for Places of Worship of ALL sizes.

During this 11-hour (day and a half training), participants will learn about violence in the workplace, schools, and places of worship. They will learn about the importance of developing a safety and security policy and a child protection policy. They will be able to recognize high risk areas, sexual misconduct, liability issues, and the importance of background screening for employees and volunteers. Students will learn about the need for a security assessment checklist that includes persons and property protection, financial and office staff protection, transportation protection and mission team protection. We will offer a sensible response to an active shooter and address the aftermath of a critical incident and the importance of working with the media after an event.

Participants will learn how to develop a Plan of Action and review written examples of An Overall Safety and Security Plan, A Child Protection Policy, A Safety and Security Ministry Team Policy, A Medical Emergency Response Policy, A Natural Disaster Policy, A Mission Trip Policy, A Crisis Communications Policy, A Safety and Security Policy for Affiliated Daycare and School, Child Field Trip Policy, An Aftermath Policy... etc.

DO NOT MISS THIS SPECIAL TRAINING! The time is NOW to prepare for an emergency.
