GEPL Teen Scene Art Reception

Community members are invited to a reception honoring local high school artists. Contest pieces will be displayed in their original formats, and participating artists will discuss their work with guests. Light refreshments will be served. 
Popsicle Stick Science
Monday, February 19 | 2:30-3:30 pm
Celebrate National Engineers Week. Make a harmonica, build a catapult, and create a popsicle stick chain reaction. For grades 1-2.  Reserve your spot.

COD Humanities Festival
Monday, February 12 to Tuesday, February 20 | Times Vary
College of Dupage, 425 Fawell Blvd.
Explore various areas of study during the weeklong "The Noise of Culture" Humanities Festival at the College of DuPage. The festival  brings together COD's in-house talent, Fermilab, the Glen Ellyn Public Library, and the Buffalo Theatre Ensemble. Sessions come in multiple formats and  draw from anthropology, architecture, art, earth science, film, history, music, and sociology to explore ideas across a broad range of topics.  Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.  Get more information  and a full list of activities .

CLOSURES
Opening Late: Staff In-Service Day
Friday, February 23 | Opening at 1 pm
The library will open late for a staff in-service day. The building may be closed until 1 pm, but you will still have access to all the great  digital resources the library offers . Learn a language, conduct research, browse the catalog to place a hold, or download a digital book, audiobook, or magazine. You can even  stream movies and listen to music . Just make sure your library card is nearby!

FACEBOOK UPDATE

Facebook recently made some significant changes that influence which posts, photos, and videos  will show in your feed  from Facebook Pages you've liked. To make sure you don't miss an update from the library,  here are some simple steps you can take to keep seeing our posts:
  1. Go to the GEPL Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GlenEllynPL
  2. On our Page, click the small arrow next to "Following" (it's next to the "Like" button)
  3. Under the "In Your News Feed" section, select "See First"
That's it! Now you'll continue to see posts from the library in your feed. And don't forget to share posts you like with your Facebook friends!
