Free Forum - Feb 14th, 8:30-11:30am

Join SCARCE and the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition for a free forum explaining the science of using food scrap amended compost. 
Especially helpful for anyone involved in farming or landscape maintenance for schools, park districts, municipalities, golf courses, or HOAs.


This month we highlight the municipalities and organizations that made it easy for residents to responsibly dispose of their used oil - a few hundred gallons of it!

New Brochure Provides Construction & Demolition Recycling Guidance

Building a new house or tearing down an old one? Don't landfill the new construction or old demolition material, recycle it. Learn what can  be recycled and where to go in DuPage County Environmental Division's new brochure. The brochure may also be found at http://www.dupageco.org/recycling.

Scout Groups Get Hands-On Learning at SCARCE

Recycling Events
Recycling events take a break during winter. Stay tuned for the Spring 2018 recycling events!


'Tis the season of holiday light recycling programs. You can drop off your non-working or unwanted holiday lights at a collection near you. 

Presents are unwrapped and shipping boxes have been emptied. Don't just recycle your shipping boxes, reuse them through Give Back Box. Watch the short video for more info.
Live Christmas Tree Recycling

Check with your municipality or waste hauler to find out if they will be collecting trees for chipping or composting. Remove all decorations before placing your tree at the curb. Check out our blog from last year for more ideas on holiday clean-up.
