| This is a great opportunity for you to help provide tours and share the knowledge of South Dakota's rich history and our State Capitol to various schools & groups. CUC Business Partner Survey

As the intended plan for the Capital University Center in Pierre transitions due to a number of changes in the educational environment both nationally and in the State, there is an opportunity to not only rethink how the Capital University Center should be used, but to rethink what the educational needs are for preparing a workforce for our economic future. The question to ask is "Are we educating our central South Dakota students with the right skills that will produce both the best qualified workforce for our industries, and provide the students with the skills needed to succeed in a 21st Century world?" In other words, are we connecting the educational outcomes with current workforce demands?
As we relook at how we intend to use the tremendous asset we have in central South Dakota in the Capital University Center, we need to first examine the needs of our regional economy as it relates to our workforce and try to build educational programming that supports these needs. In order to better understand these regional workforce needs, we are asking regional industry leaders to fill out the following survey. From this survey and one that is been provided to regional high school students, we intend to gather the data needed to help us rethink and reimagine how we need to educate our students both at the secondary and postsecondary level.
We would ask that you complete the following survey by February 15th.

Enjoy a piece of pizza and help preserve a piece of local history! The Oahe Chapel Preservation Society's mission is to maintain and preserve the Oahe Chapel for the public's enjoyment. Built in 1877, the Chapel is available to rent for weddings, baptisms, memorial services, etc. Ecumenical church services are held every Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Caroline Fraser joins the History and Heritage Book Club via Skype to discuss the professional relationship between author Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane. Fraser is the author of "Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder." "Prairie Fires" was selected as one of the New York Times Book Review's 10 Best Books of 2017. That book and others about Wilder are available at the Heritage Stores at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol. Everyone is welcome to attend the free program.

We will have a panel presentation that will explore topics including the dementia journey, safety issues, health issues, financial & legal issues. Help us as we gear up to welcome international musicians from across the globe, right here in Pierre and Fort Pierre! Warm up with some soup and support upcoming musicians from Japan, China, and Norway. Soup sales start at 11:00 a.m. and run through the afternoon. Bingo begins at 1:00 and concludes at 3:00 p.m..
The SGAC will host the world's premier Taiko drumming ensemble, Ondekoza, for a week long intensive residency, as part of Arts Midwest World Fest, in February.
Ondekoza is widely recognized as one of the groups to have set the groundwork for taiko as a performance art.
Join us for a public reception on Monday, February 26th from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Northridge Plaza and a public concert on Sunday, March 4th at 2:00 at T.F. Riggs Auditorium.
Presented with support from the Women of the Moose. Along with bingo thee will be a silent auction and humor added by Don Boyd. The Women of the Moose are also hosting a membership drive.

The 71st Annual King of Hearts Dance is set for Sunday, February 18, at the Riggs High School Gym with dancing from 8 a.m. to Midnight. The Coronation of the King will be at 11:00 p.m. by the Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters Bethel #10 of Pierre, South Dakota. The event is formal attire for students in grades 9-12. Tickets are $15 and currently available at Capital City Florist, The Hollywood Shop, Pink Petal, and Affections Floral & Wine or $20 at the door. Candidates for this year's King of Hearts are Dusty McCauley of Highmore High School, Ryan Habeck, Cale Meiners, Logan Kennedy and Logan Rosenberger of Stanley County High School and Carson Tschetter, Peyton Zabel, Matthew Maxfield, Kade McTighe, Davis Anderson and Caleb Lusk of T.F. This adaptation is based on the timeless swashbuckler by Alexandre Dumas, a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes and above all, honor. The story, set in 1625, begins with d'Artagnan who sets off for Paris in search of adventure. Along with d'Artagnan goes Sabine, his sister, the quintessential tomboy. Sent with d'Artagnan to attend a convent school in Paris, she poses as a young man - d'Artagnan's servant - and quickly becomes entangled in her brother's adventures. Soon after reaching Paris, d'Artagnan encounters the greatest heroes of the day, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the famous musketeers, and he joins forces with his heroes to defend the honor of the Queen of France. In so doing, he finds himself in opposition to the most dangerous man in Europe, Cardinal Richelieu. Even more deadly is the infamous Countess de Winter, known as Milady, who will stop at nothing to revenge herself on d'Artagnan - and Sabine - for their meddlesome behavior. Little does Milady know that the young girl she scorns, Sabine, will ultimately save the day. "The Three Musketeers" is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
