News from the Ship

Welcome Aboard to Our New Crewmembers!

To our new subscribers: Welcome to the Jolly Roger Crew! We are flattered that you have joined us in this fight against telemarketing! We are a small team of dedicated telecom professionals who hate telemarketing as much as you do. We provide bots to waste their time (and break their business model), but we also work hard to make the service as easy to use as possible. In order for this to succeed, we need YOUR help. There are lots of ways to use the bots - from landlines, mobile phones, Google Voice/Project Fi, and various VoIP providers. If you are having any trouble using them, please let us know . We want to turn your annoying telemarketers into entertainment. And we want to delight you so that you share this experience with other people. Many of our subscribers have said they look forward to telemarketers now!
The Podcast is Not Dead!

My apologies for the long delay with the Podcast. I have found it's like going to the gym. The more time that goes by, the harder it is to record another episode. I have a lot of stuff to tell you and some great audio to share. I'll have a new episode shortly and will announce it through the usual channels. If you are not caught up, you can listen to previous episodes here . I am looking forward to telling you about this Christmas collaboration with NoMoRoBo!

to Bring You Christmas Bots!
We have teamed up with our friends at NoMoRoBo to bring you some Christmas entertainment! We have created some new bots and NoMoRoBo is feeding calls to them right now! Both teams are reviewing the calls and we're posting one per day at DoNotCallChristmas.com.

You can also follow us on Facebook or our blog to hear the latest calls. If you're familiar with the Jolly Roger Telephone bots, you'll recognize these voices!
New Website Coming Soon!

We are hard at work building a new web site for you, which we like to refer to as the "Porthole Portal." The existing process to get signed up with Jolly Roger Telephone requires some manual intervention by one of the crew. We are working on automating that, as well as providing a way for you to manage your own account, telephone numbers, whitelists, and blacklists. It's been a long voyage, and not as easy or fast as we would like. But the new site is looking great and we are looking forward to launching it soon!
Gratitude From the Captain

On a personal note, I want to thank you all for your interest in this service. This started as a hobby to protect my family at home. I love telecommunications and I want to protect both the telecom network and as many families as possible. It breaks my heart when I hear stories of people being scammed by telemarketers. And even if you're savvy, the incessant abuse of the network offends me. I love hearing your success stories with these bots, so please email us at  [email protected]  or post messages on our Facebook page. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and New Year! - Roger
The Jolly Roger Crew
There is more to Jolly Roger Telephone than just me! I am the primary programmer for the bots and I've been doing the interviews and speeches, but this is getting to be a crazy amount of work and you will start to hear from some other people if you contact us via email, Facebook, YouTube, the WordPress Blog, or Twitter. Besides me, you might see the names Jennifer, Ted, and Phil when you contact us. We are a small and friendly team dedicated to fighting your telemarketers. Please say hello if you chat with someone new!

Thanks again,
Roger & the Pirate Crew
