Sunday School Discipleship International

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20

As you are going,
THINK BIG: Every relationship, every interaction, all inclusive.

And make disciples,
START SMALL: You. Be one. Be a Christ-like disciple. Re-present Jesus.

Baptizing them, immersing them in Jesus,
GO DEEP: Pray. Empty yourself. Sacrifice.

Funding the Mission
For generations, Nazarenes have supported the World Evangelism Fund. Working together, we accomplish so much as the Body of Christ. Become a part of missions work and partner with the Church of the Nazarene to make Christlike disciples in the nations. In the Funding the Mission plan, the World Evangelism Fund is the vehicle through which we deliver the message of hope - and your church drives that mission.
Theological Leadership Conference

Olivet Nazarene University's School of Theology and Christian Ministry presents:

2018 Theological Leadership Conference
Where Theology and Practice Intersect

With Guest Speaker, Dr. William Willimon February 16-17, 2018
Olivet Nazarene University's School of Theology and Christian Ministry welcomes Dr. William Willimon to this year's Theological Leadership Conference. Dr. Willimon is Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry at the Divinity School, Duke University. He is the author of 60 books and served for 8 years as Bishop of the North Alabama Conference of The United Methodist Church where he led 157,000 Methodists and 792 pastors. For 20 years prior to the episcopacy, he was Dean of the Chapel and Professor of Christian Ministry at Duke University.

After each of the three presentations by Dr. Willimon on Friday, participants will move to smaller discussion groups: Lead/Executive Pastors, Children's Pastors, Youth Pastors, Worship Pastors, and Hispanic Pastors. These breakout groups will drill down on the presentations in lively and open discussions connecting what we believe to what we do as the church and as pastors. On Saturday morning. Dr. Willimon will speak a powerful concluding word about the place of theology in our practice of ministry.

Spanish translation equipment is available for all sessions.

The conference will be held at College Church of the Nazarene University Avenue, 200 University Ave., Bourbonnais, IL 60914.

Cost is $79 per person and a special early registration rate of $59 per person is available to all who register prior to January 15th. College students qualify for a student rate of $29 per person.

Move From Hero To Hero Maker
Every year, thousands of the world's church planting leaders come to Orlando to learn what's new and what's actually working RIGHT NOW in church planting. This year you can expect to learn the 5 essential practices of moving from hero (standing on the platform) to hero making (building a platform for others)...

Multiplication Thinking
Are you thinking that you can effectively build God's ministry by yourself? Well stop. And think again. Stop investing your time and resources on a method that's limited to addition. Maximize God's ministry by placing an emphasis on multiplying and developing other leaders.

Permission Giving
Are you having a hard time discovering how you can maximize your discipleship efforts? Well here's the secret. The focus shouldn't be on your leadership. The focus should be on developing the leadership that God has put around you!

Disciple Multiplying
Are you committed to just creating disciples? Or are you committed to creating disciple multipliers? Commit to creating disciple multipliers. Your impact will reach far beyond your church or city.

Gift Activating
Are you only asking God to use your gifts? Or are you also asking God to equip those that you're discipling? Your ministry will only thrive when you stop trying to fill slots. Instead use your time and resources to develop people's gifts and commission leaders to be sent out for ministry.

Kingdom Building
We're all guilty of it. We get more caught up with "Who shows up to my thing?" instead of "Who have I sent out to do God's thing?". If we're serious about building God's ministry, then we have to change our definition of success. We need to stop measuring attendance and start measuring how many of our disciples are advancing the kingdom.

2017-2021 Manual
BGS declares effective date for new Manual

The Board of General Superintendents declared December 1, 2017 as the effective date for the 2017-2021 Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.

An electronic version of the new Manual in English is accessible via nazarene.org/manual or by going directly to its website . The printed version will be available in March 2018 as a sales item from Nazarene Publishing House . More information will be provided as other translations (electronic and printed) are completed.

In June 2017, the General Assembly commissioned the Manual Editing Committee to work on all resolutions that were adopted (or amended and adopted) by the Assembly. According to Manual par. 909, specific legislative language and updates (new or revised) are not deemed "official" until this committee's assignment has been completed, which was November 2017. Legislation affecting the Manual is now applicable.

A section of the General Assembly website, ga2017.com/resolutions , provided access to resolutions for General Assembly delegates and the general public prior to and during the 2017 General Assembly. This section is still available to anyone who wishes to access it, and no log-in is required.

The page contains folders for each of the original resolutions submitted to the General Assembly (available in English, French, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish). A Calendar of Resolutions was posted to this site in August 2017, which identifies the specific action (adopted, amended and adopted, rejected, or referred) taken for each resolution by the 2017 General Assembly. The resolutions are organized into separate folders by committees according to each resolution code.
