WANTED: Residents to Fight for Environmental Justice and Sustainability
Openings on County Hazardous Materials and Sustainability Commissions
I'm proud to fight alongside our community to advance equity, fairness and environmental justice.
I successfully advocated for adding an Environmental Justice seat on our County Hazardous Materials Commission and a second Environmental Justice seat on our Sustainability Commission.
We're now seeking applicants to fill FOUR key seats on the Hazardous Materials Commission and TWO key seats on the Sustainability Commission.
You have a chance to join me in leading our fight for sustainability and environmental justice.
For an application available online or more information, contact Michael Kent at 925-250-3227 or via the email above.
Sustainability Commission
The current openings are for:
Environmental Justice Seat: A member representing environmental justice issues and who lives in a frontline, or "disadvantaged," community.
Business Seat: A representative for commercial groups or organizations whose business focuses on sustainability and/or environmental issues
The Commission makes policy recommendations to the County on sustainability issues including implementation of the County's Climate Action Plan and opportunities to realize equity and fairness across diverse communities. More information and how to apply here. Applications must be received by October 23.
