Stratford Campus Feels the Holiday Spirit at Unity Tree Celebration
The Stratford campus celebrated the holiday season at the 24
th
Annual Unity Tree Lighting ceremony on December 15. Preschool and elementary-age children from the Stratford Borough school district joined the celebration, and had everyone singing along to familiar carols and holiday songs. Additionally, guests enjoyed music performed by students from Rowan's College of Performing Arts, and by SOM students.
Food and toy drives were held in conjunction with this year's holiday celebration. The Student Pediatric Medical Association (SPMA) collected toys to benefit a local Toys for Tots chapter, while the International Federation of Medical Students (IFSMA) gathered non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of South Jersey.
After the program's conclusion, the SOM campus community was treated to a buffet holiday luncheon. A big 'thank you' is extended to all who helped to organize the Unity Tree Celebration, as well as to those who donated their time or gifts to make this year's event a success.

CARES Gala Celebrates 10th Year
The 10th Anniversary Calling All Angels Gala was held on October 19 to celebrate the CARES (Child Abuse Research Education and Service) Institute. In the past ten years, this event has raised over $1 million for CARES Institute. Nearly 400 supporters joined this year's carnival-themed festivities to raise funds for CARES Institute programs and services. We truly appreciate the ongoing efforts of the CARES Gala Advisory Board, led by the tireless efforts of co-chairs Steven Kantor, Shawn O'Neill and Michael Sherman, who, along with a group of community volunteers, have made raising awareness of the CARES Institute a top priority. Special thanks are extended to this year's sponsors: Investors Bank, AmeriHealth New Jersey, Jefferson Health, ShopRite, Wilmington Trust, Cherry Hill Jaguar, Archer & Greiner, Cooper Children's Regional Hospital and Shannon Outdoor Advertising.

Students and Staff Take a Break to Enjoy Holiday Holistics
The second annual Holiday Holistics was held on December 6 as part of a series of wellness events. Students looking to take a break, grab a snack and even use more of their right brain ventured into the Multipurpose Room for a variety of activities and treats. While calming jars were the most popular, SOM students and staff also took time for snowflake making, mandala coloring, as well as playing checkers and card games.
