The key to success is you

Greg thanks you. He is currently working with our staff to obtain a job in the community. Service redesign - community job success

Desi, age 35, recently landed her first independent job at The Tomato Vine, a small restaurant in Eden Prairie. Congrats! She is one of 41 people in our day services programs who we supported in gaining a competitive, integrated job in 2017. Last year we helped 29 people in day services to achieve this step, and we are pleased to be making great progress!

A greater focus on competitive, community employment is part of our overall Service Redesign efforts at Opportunity Partners. Service Redesign is helping us meet our mission of advancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. It is also aligning us with changing service requirements like Minnesota's Olmstead Plan, the Home and Community Based Services Rule and the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (W.I.O.A.) We know these changes will mean day services will likely look different in the future. In the end, our goal is to make community integration a reality while preserving choice for people. We are partnering with advocacy groups, families and persons served, peer providers, the State of Minnesota and counties as we move forward - we're all in this together!
The most wonderful time of the year

We hope that you, your family and friends are having a great holiday season. Many of our programs are having holiday celebrations of their own! President & CEO Armando Camacho is making his annual winter visits. Earlier this month, he stopped by hoMEbase - Westside to drop off cookies and holiday cheer!
