Historical Walking Tour  of Marion
Date: Tuesday, June 19
Time: 7-8:30 p.m.
Come join us for a one-hour walking tour of Uptown Marion with Mark Stoffer Hunter, research historian for the History Center in Cedar Rapids. We will gather at the library, take an informative stroll through Uptown, and then gather back at the library for a slide presentation and Q&A session. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host Mr. Stoffer Hunter, who is known in the area as "Mr. History," or the city's "walking archive."   This program is sponsored by the Friends, and everyone is welcome!
Golda Meir: The Journey Home
Date: Tuesday, October 16
Time: 7-8 p.m.
How does a girl born in the Ukraine and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin travel a path that will lead her to become Prime Minister of Israel? Jessica Michna, widely know for her riveting portrayals of notable women throughout history, presents this informative, entertaining program that explores Meir's rather circuitous route to fame and prestige. What roadblocks and detours did she encounter? How did she overcome them? Her journey is a fascinating one, filled with joy, sorrow, seriousness, and humor. Join us to hear Golda's story, in her own words.

Get this one on your calendar now so you don't forget -- we promise an evening of tremendous entertainment! The program is sponsored by the Friends, and is free to all!
