Township Takes Steps to Secure Current Interest Rates for Future Borrowing for the New
Hershey Community Center
|
The Derry Township Board of Supervisors has been strategizing with Public Financial Management Financial Advisors and RBC Capital Markets on funding for a new Hershey Community Center. This week, the Board adopted Ordinance 703 authorizing general obligation bonds to be issued in the amount of $25,000,000 in late spring/summer 2019. Resolution 1549 authorizing a Cash Settlement Hedge for $25,000,000 to terminate no later than June 1, 2019 was also adopted.
In the Cash Settlement Hedge, if interest rates go higher than the current rate, the Township will receive a payment to offset the higher rates. If interest rates go lower than the secured swap rate, the Township will make a payment, but will issue fixed rate bonds at a lower interest rate. The cash settlement can be terminated prior to June 1, 2019.
Visit the
Township's website to learn more and see documents that explain the process, plan, and funding considerations for the new Community Center.

File Your Local Tax Return Online
|
Tax Day, April 17, is fast approaching. Derry Township's local tax administrator, Keystone Collections Group, just made
e-file easier and faster. With clear graphics, an interactive format, and a streamlined process, you can file your local return online in minutes using any mobile device.
With
e-file, you can file multiple returns from one
e-file account. Enter only the most basic information necessary to file your local return. If you have an overpayment, you can transfer it to your spouse’s balance due using the “Married Filing Jointly” option. View the status of your return(s) on the Keystone Collections Group's website home page. Payments can be scheduled and refunds can be arranged on the site.
If you work outside of Pennsylvania, you can now file online. If you moved during the year,
e-file makes it easy to file your part-year returns for each of your home locations if Keystone is the tax administrator.
State law requires Pennsylvania residents with earned income to file a local tax return even when their employer withholds the tax from payroll, or when no refund is due. If you don’t have payroll withholding, work in Philadelphia, and/or have net profits, you are required to file a local earned income tax return.
