Policy changes
  • Library cardholders now can have up to 25 active hold requests (up from 15)
  • The threshold for accounts considered delinquent due to outstanding fees has increased from $5 to $10.

#MNLibrariesTransform was the theme on Tuesday, March 6, when East Central Regional Library staff spent the day at the State Capitol talking to the region's legislators about issues important to libraries including library funding. This exciting day included appointments with nine members of the House and Senate, delivering the important message about how critical libraries are to the communities they serve.

Give a hearty welcome to Sean Gavin, Brian Miller and traditional Irish music

Enthusiasts of good music are in for a treat when East Central Regional Library presents the traditional Irish music of Sean Gavin, with bandmate Brian Miller, at select branches soon. Gavin's skill on the Irish flute and uilleann pipes - the national bagpipe of Ireland - reflect his lifelong love for Irish music. He went on to win the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal in 2016 for his flute playing. Gavin will be accompanied by Miller on guitar and bouzouki.
