This Week at St. Columba's ... The time has almost come! Join us this Christmas Eve to sing the carols and tell the story once again. God's light has pierced the darkness! Hope is born in our hearts, and we will never be the same.

Please note: There will be NO Sunday services this week at 8, 9 and 11:15 am in the Church Nave, nor 9:15 and 11:15 am in the Great Hall.
Celebrating
From a spiritually moving remembrance service to an abundant and joyous luncheon, the Water Ministry Christmas party was enjoyed by our guests, volunteers and staff, alike. Many thanks to Thelma Triche; master cooks: Dennis Bigley, Joe Evans and Francis Grant-Suttie; and coordinators: Betty King, Suzi Kindervatter, Anne Murphy, Penny Ray, Carolyn Donnelly and Bill Jenson; and the many volunteers who answered our call to help cook, set up the Great Hall, serve the lunch and clean up afterwards. The Columban spirit was alive and giving!
Decorating
This year, Decoration Sunday was marked by a number of new activities: poetry reading and writing with the Prison Ministry, origami crane-making, lego manger scenes, hand bell polishing and more. Many thanks to Gina Lambright and Jeff Stensland who orchestrated the many busy hands that were lighting, decorating, dusting, polishing, singing, writing, folding and arranging, and to the Rite 13 whose
hot mulled cider fueled all the merry-making.

FAITH STORY
Michele Prince: "I Choose Love"
"My faith story is a love story. I grew up feeling loved and believing in a loving God, thanks in large part to my devoutly Catholic mother and paternal grandmother. I came to St. Columba's by way of the Mothers' Group in September 2001 with our two small boys and felt a sense of loving acceptance, as if I was home. In those early years we were under the radar, just regular Sunday members - first in the Great Hall and then in the Nave. This was the place where I wanted Will and Alex to grow up; I envisioned them in the Rite 13 program and participating in SCAP. I did't take all this love for granted, but I had no idea how much I would need it ..."
