Good Morning

Christmas Eve is going to be very special at Middletown Christian Church. Our family loves the 11 p.m. service, and we have made a tradition of cramming into a booth at Waffle House after the last service.

Waffles never taste better than on Christmas Eve. But I always remember that there will be many sitting in the sanctuary who are hurting.  Depression. Emptiness. Sorrow. Failure. Loneliness. And then some. Some are literally at the end of their rope, requiring whatever hope they have remaining to walk through the doors. As I have always done in the past, I'll be praying for God to use the service and my words to bring hope to someone's life. So often I hear stories afterwards that Christmas Eve was the night God became real to someone who was very lost and afraid. I've always believed that people are more open at Christmas than any other time of the year to welcome the love of Jesus into their life.

It's a night of good news for people who have heard some bad news. A night of light for those who are walking through a dark time. A night where joy is born in the saddest of hearts. A night where peace is the message. I hope then that you will invite someone to join us for one of our services.  It could be the one simple invitation that changed the direction of someone's life.  I look forward to seeing you and meeting your friends and family.

Merry Christmas,
David
