DCD Families,

Under the pending tax law passed by Congress, individuals and families may find it harder to itemize deductions, such as charitable contributions, because the standard deduction will likely increase significantly in 2018.

We wanted to mention this potential impact on charitable deductions to assist in your planning between now and the end of the year - particularly as it relates to the DCD Annual Fund. If you have not yet made a contribution to the Annual Fund, or if you have pledged and not yet paid, you may want to consider doing so before December 31st. Obviously you should consult with your financial advisor about the law, which has not yet been signed by the president, and the steps that are most appropriate for you.

If you'd like to donate or make a pledge payment, you can do so using a credit card on our website by clicking here; sending a check to the DCD Advancement Office, Dedham Country Day School, 90 Sandy Valley Road, Dedham, MA 02026; or donating appreciated securities - instructions are here. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes for the holidays and a very happy new year!

Sincerely,

Charles Rudnick
