Tri Counties Bank & Stott Outdoor Advertising Share Concerns
The Chamber's 8th anchor business listening session took place on December 13th with
Tri Counties Bank and
Stott Outdoor Advertising. In summary, from all eight anchor business listening lessions, the over all concerns included: the quality of community decreasing (less attractive to recruits), executive-level workforce looking for more than Chico can provide, lack of housing affordability and neighborhood consistency, increase in crime rates, and the lack of infrastructure to export goods/people outside of Chico.
Ambassadors Drop In On Businesses
Friday, December 8th the Ambassador Membership Team completed their monthly Membership Walk in the Mangrove and Vallombrosa area. Overall businesses stated they were having less issues than in the past, one reason being some of these businesses recently incorporated private patrol.
Redding Chamber Visit
December 4th the Redding Chamber of Commerce team visited the Chico Chamber of Commerce team to discuss how to advance our north state.
At their December 19th meeting, the Legislative Action Committee discussed/heard: a presentation from Chico First on the proposed shopping cart ordinance, an update on the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, discussed the outcomes of the Retail Roundtables, and looked at prioritizing business issues with our upcoming survey in 2018.
