Preparing For A Miracle

We are called to sacrifice, pray, and prepare for our home.  We believe that we have witnessed the miraculous provision of God along our journey and we look forward to seeing how God will, once again, provide a miracle for our future home.

We plan to collect our pledge cards THIS SUNDAY, March 18th. We are looking for 100% participation from our church family.  We hope that you'll help us get one step closer to a future home.

Prayer and Dismissal

Weekly Devotional

Like most families, we have a coin jar in our home.  It sits on the counter next to where I always place my keys, wallet and sunglasses.  It's a common routine to  empty my pockets each time I get home.  While it's not much, over time it adds up.

This past weekend, I decided to take it to Publix and cash it out.  The total was 73.12.  Pretty impressive for spare change!  Not sure how long it took to accumulate that much ... probably a few months.

Here's what I've done with the change in the past:
*Took the family to eat at the Mason Jar restaurant.  Took care of lunch plus a few of their famous milkshakes!
*Used the spare change when traveling down to Florida.  For some reason, the Sunshine State has an abundance of toll booths.  Why can't they pay for their own roads??
*Bought a few more Christmas decorations in December.  I'm pretty fond of exterior illumination.

But then I started thinking, what if I used that extra to help with the campaign?  What if I put that spare change to good use?  What if I used it for God's kingdom?

Let's say I saved $25 in spare change a month (that's totally doable for my family of four).  That would actually equal out to $300 per year and $600 over two years.

Now think if 10 families agreed to this.  That would be $6,000 more toward the campaign.  20 families = 12,000.  30 families = $18,000.  40 families = $24,000.  I think you get the point...

Every amount can help us reach our Capital Campaign goal.  And the miracle is that Jesus often multiplies what's given.  We see this in the story of feeding the 5,000 (see Mark 6).  Jesus takes one little boy's lunch and feeds the entire crowd.  I believe the same could be said of a church that's willing to sacrifice and give what they can.  God promises to take our best efforts and multiply them for His kingdom.

I'm looking forward to this Sunday and seeing the commitments that will be offered toward our future home.  Can't wait to see how God multiplies the gifts and provides us with a miracle.

Blessings,
Jimmy Mac

Current Series: Miracles

How strong is your faith? Is it strong enough to move mountains? God calls us to fully rely on Him. To trust God in all that we do and all that we go through. Is nothing impossible when it comes to God?
This series is meant to take your faith deeper than just surface level. What is causing us to lack faith? Do we find comfort in our career, family, or finances? Do we truly believe that God is in complete control? And do we relinquish that control and trust God to take care of us? Miracles happened all throughout Scripture. Are miracles happening now around us?
This series is a great opportunity to see a miracle take shape as we consider how to be generous in building God's kingdom on earth.

Upcoming Series

You haven't finished your life story. What will you do with the blank pages? The choices you make today will lead you one way or another - but when you know who to trust, you'll always know what to do.

In this series, we will learn how to seek God's will for our lives and how He cares more about who we are than what we do.

It's not too late to join in!

In preparation for Easter Sunday, we're inviting everyone to read through the gospels. The reading plan can be accessed on The Ridge website and app.

Link to the study guide: click here.

Maundy Thursday is an alternate name for Holy Thursday, the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. As recorded in the Gospels, on His last night before His betrayal and arrest, Jesus shared the Lord's Supper. Christians therefore keep this night with celebrations at the Lord's Table (Holy Communion).

This service will be held on Thursday, March 29th, at The Ridge Office Complex (5624B Whitesville Road). Since space is limited, registration is required. Each service will last no longer than thirty minutes.

Childcare will be provided.

Are you interested in being a part of a serving team on Sunday mornings? Here are some of the ways to get plugged in:

*Safety Team.  This team offers a watchful and helpful presence during the worship hour.

*Greeters.  The Greeters Team are the warm hearts and big smiles of The Ridge Church.  Without them, there would be no Golden Donuts, no one telling you good morning and no coffee!

*Parking Lot Party.  The Parking Lot Party has the special task of making sure people find the way to the worship area.  This includes putting out directional signs and welcoming our members and visitors.

*RidgeRunners.  At The Ridge, we have one of the best kids' environments around.  Children of all ages learn about Jesus in a way that is relevant, biblical and engaging.

*Student Ministry.  We do student ministry a bit differently at The Ridge. We have monthly gatherings, monthly worship (3rd Night) and weekly small groups that meet in restaurants across Columbus before school starts.

*Worship.  The worship team is both on stage and offstage.  Everything you see happen on Sunday morning is made possible by this amazing team. Opportunities range from singing to running the lights.

*Setup/Teardown Team.   This team is the hands and feet of Christ.  No expert skills needed, just the heart of service that comes from a heart of worship.

Email us and let us know if you're interested in being on one of these amazing teams: [email protected].
