Dr. John and Esther Spurrier: Legacy of Service at Macha Mission Hospital, Zambia

2018 Week of Prayer and Fasting Devotionals Now Available
Join us in welcoming the new year during the Week of Prayer and Fasting, January 7-14. Across the denomination, individuals and congregations will seek God's direction - guided by devotionals authored by BIC U.S. voices. This year, BIC U.S. Leadership Council members have written reflections on the theme A Long Obedience in the Same Direction. Access devotional resources in English and Spanish.  
Christianity Today Editor to Present at Awaken Conference Prior to General Assembly 2018
We are delighted Katelyn Beaty - an editor at large at Christianity Today - will be presenting the plenary session for the Awaken: BIC Network for Women in Ministry conference, Friday, July 13, 2018, just prior to General Assembly 2018. In light of the Awaken conference, as well as the breakout sessions at General Assembly, no Impact Seminars will be held in 2018. Learn more »

A Promise of Hope: Christ-Followers Coming Alongside Victims of Sex Trafficking
A multibillion-dollar-a-year business, sex trafficking occurs in our own backyards. To address the issue in her region, BIC U.S. pastor Susan Vigliano founded and now leads Peace Promise, a nonprofit providing advocacy, outreach, intervention, and restorative care for victims of trafficking. She shares how we as Christ-followers can practically come alongside those exploited by the trade. Read more »
Bob Beaty to Become Next Susquehanna Conference Bishop
We are thrilled to announce Bob Beaty has been confirmed as the next bishop of the Susquehanna Conference. Following Bishop Ken Hoke's retirement the end of July 2018, Bob will assume the role August 1, 2018. A pastor and leader in the BIC U.S. at regional and national levels, Bob has a passion to see individuals develop a relationship with Christ through the local expression of the Church. Read more »
End-of-Year Report
Every year, all BIC U.S. congregations are asked to complete an end-of-year report, based on activity from the previous year. Early January, be on the lookout for the 2017 end-of-year report. In a similar format as 2016, your finalized survey is due January 31. We ask you to complete it in a timely fashion - as we're publishing overall results in early 2018.
Two Leaders Take the Helm of the BIC Foundation and BIC U.S. Shared Services
We're honored to announce James Reynolds has been appointed executive director of the Brethren in Christ Foundation and Mitchell Martin has been selected as director of finance and director of shared services for the BIC U.S., both effective immediately. Skillfully leading in an interim capacity since Rick Snyder retired this summer, Jim and Mitch received their long-term appointments this November. Read more »
Directed Study Program Spring 2018   
Whether you're a volunteer, leader, pastor, or someone simply wanting to expand your biblical knowledge base, consider participating in the BIC U.S.' Directed Study Program (DSP). The DSP consists of email-delivered courses designed to be flexible, relational, practical, and affordable. For spring term 2018, which begins January 8 and runs until April 20, choose from 16 courses being offered in the areas of Bible, history, ministry, and theology. Learn more »
