Dec. 21, 2017
Dear Educators,

As you prepare for a much-deserved winter break, we wanted to provide you a brief update on our discussions with the Denver Classroom Teachers Association regarding the ProComp agreement.

Denver Public Schools and the DCTA have been working to respond to your concerns about how to improve ProComp. This week, both parties agreed to extend the agreement through March 14, 2018 while we continue discussions.

We are committed to ProComp being a professional compensation system for teachers that is simple, fair and more transparent. ProComp is an important part of our compensation system. We want to ensure that it allows teachers to build a strong base salary over their careers while also receiving meaningful incentives for teaching in our highest-poverty schools and serving in our hardest-to-staff positions. We've heard from you that this is incredibly important and we want to assure you that we are responding.

We look forward to renewing our discussions with DCTA in the new year to develop a stronger compensation system for teachers.

Best wishes for a restful and renewing break, filled with friends, family and fun!

Tom
