Of the many accomplished professionals recognized, two of the recipients of the AOTA Fellow award include, RESNA members Amber Ward, MS, OTR/L, BCPR, ATP/SMS, of the Neurosciences Institute-Neurology in Charlotte, N.C., and Jessica Presperin Pedersen, OT, MBA, OTR/L, ATP/SMS, of the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago.
Kara Kopplin, of The ROHO Group, joined delegates from Kenya, Italy, Japan, Tanzania, Australia, Denmark, and the United States in conjunction with the ISO/TC 173 Assistive Products for Persons with Disabilities Standards Meeting.
RESNA has partnered with Closing the Gap who is offering a $100 discount for RESNA members to attend their 2018 conference. Additionally, RESNA will offer its comprehensive 2-day ATP Fundamentals Course September 23-24. Upon completion, the exam will be available to take September 25th on-site. Mark Schmeler, PhD, OTR/L, ATP, Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and Laura Cohen, PT, PhD, ATP/SMS, of Rehabilitation Technology Consultants were interviewed about the
NCART and University of Pittsburgh's recent survey of ATPs. The survey, which recently closed, asseses the background of professionals that are providing CRT.

st Annual Assistive Technology Appreciation Event. This brought together students, a

The University of Pittsburgh and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee were recently accredited by CoA-RATE in conjunction with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This process ensures rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology degree programs adhere to educational program standards and satisfy other accreditation criteria. CoA-RATE, chaired by Dr. Mary Goldberg, is the first accreditation process for rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology degree programs, and is accepting applications via a rolling deadline. Interested parties are invited to review and follow the application process on the CoA-RATE site.

Representatives Bob Latta (R-OH) and Bill Johnson (R-OH) are circulating a House of Representatives letter that will be sent to CMS Administrator Verma to protect access to Complex Rehab Technology (CRT). The letter formally informs CMS that Congress did not intend for DME Competitive Bid payment rates to be applied to CRT items as part of the 21st Century Cures Act legislation. Ask your representative to follow the instructions and add their signature to help protect access to CRT. A copy of the instruction letter and the text of the letter to CMS can be found
