Whether you are shelter or rescue staff or volunteer, community animal advocate, veterinarian, ACO officer, elected official or other, you probably have a topic that you feel could be explored more fully and shared with others.

New vaccination guidelines for dogs 





Updated  Canine Vaccination Guidelines  have been published by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and include guidance on initial immunization, vaccine boosters, rabies vaccination, vaccine handling and storage, titer testing, vaccination for dogs in shelters, legal considerations and more.

Of particular interest are:

A great tool is the Lifestyle-Based Vaccine Calculator that provides vaccination protocol recommendations based on age and lifestyle risk
Dogs in puddle
 factors. Does your dog "Enjoy meeting or playing with other dogs, Stay in a boarding kennel, Drink  from fresh water rivers, lakes, or puddles?" 

These and other questions will help you determine which vaccinations are considered Core or Non-core for your dog.
