A Letter from Our Director
As I sit here mere days after announcing the news of my retirement from 40 years of serving Tree Trust, I contemplate the word CHANGE and the various meanings it has in my life.
As a young college student studying education, I took my first job with Tree Trust as a summer youth counselor determined to change the world and make youth and the environment "better" in whatever ways I could. What I didn't realize at the time, was how much that first job would help to change me, and affect the person I have become in the last four decades.
After that first summer at Tree Trust, I never worked for another organization. Please read that again - I have never worked anywhere except Tree Trust for my entire adult life (and I was born in the 50s!) This might lead one to think I have seen very little change over the years, but that is simply not true.
Of course I experienced many of the same life changes that others do... marriage, children, divorce, single parenting, care for a parent/loss of a parent. And as a baby-boomer in America, I have seen plenty of change in our country and our culture over that time as well. But the place I experienced the most change is at the employer that I never left.
