"You should never let your fears prevent you from doing what is right."
Aung San Suu Kyi, state counselor  of Myanmar;
Winner of the 1991 Nobel Prize for Peace.

This quote is close to my heart, especially in a political year like 2018. I am thrilled with the number of women running for elected office in California and applaud each and every one of them for taking the risk and not letting their fear prevent them from taking action.

At our upcoming conference, we are hosting a great panel - Running in Heels. This session gives participants the opportunity to hear from women who are 2018 candidates. I am extremely thrilled that my friend and CA Women Lead past president Fiona Ma will be joining us. This is a great opportunity to get a better understanding of what it takes to run for elected positions.

I am also excited for our Media Training session. This high powered panel is going to give you tips on how to tell your story - as a leader at work, in your community or in civic engagement. Margita Thompson is one of the fabulous panelists. You can read her incredible bio below. Rest assured - you will leave this panel inspired!

I hope you will take a moment and visit our conference website. There, you can read the bios of all of our speakers and presenters, learn more about the breakout sessions and get information on how you can attend these inspirational two days!

Table sponsorships are filling up and we are getting close to capacity. Individual tickets are going quickly and we have a hard cap on how many can attend the conference. I hope you will secure your spot today! Trust me - you will not want to miss all the surprises that are in store for our guests!

If you have any issues or questions about the conference, please reach out to use directly at [email protected] or via phone at 916-551-1920.

See you in Anaheim!

SESSION HIGHLIGHT:
MEDIA TRAINING-
TELLING YOUR STORY EFFECTIVELY

Imagine yourself being interviewed by local, state or national media feeling completely confident. Imagine a crisis hits your organization, yet you are calm and know you can address all of your customers, investors, suppliers and supporters by speaking to them directly by using online social media video.

Do you know how to speak to the media if they call you? Do you know how to speak directly to your clients using Facebook Live, YouTube, and Skype? If you want to be a successful author, expert, CEO, manager, government official or leader you must have the ability to speak to the news media effectively AND to speak on video using social media. The lines between traditional news media and social media have become blurred. To reach real success, you must become a master media communicator in every scenario. This session explores how you can become a confident, skilled media communicator.
