Upper Kirby Construction
Work on Westheimer, Bissonnet, and Eastside Progressing
Westheimer Storm Drainage and Street Reconstruction:

Work on Westheimer Road draws closer to completion. All roadway and underground utilities are complete with only sidewalks and streetscape improvements remaining.

New concrete pavement will be installed east of Buffalo Speedway adjacent to St John the Divine Church. New sidewalk pavement will also be installed this week adjacent to Lamar High School. Please be wary of flagmen and other construction personnel in these  area s

Finish sidewalk pavers are scheduled to be installed this week and  next week along the stretch of the project.

Work continuing through January  includes  new pedestrian lighting,  landscape, and removal of overhead poles.

Bissonnet Storm Drainage  and Street Reconstruction:

Work on Bissonnet makes headway in roadway pavement replacement.

New roadway pavement is being poured the next few days on the east bound lane at Wakeforest Avenue. (pictured).

Please be wary of construction personnel and equipment as east bound and west bound traffic in this area is reduced to a single lane.

On the west end of the project, near Buffalo Speedway, crews are installing the new storm sewer systems in front of the HEB parking lot. New pavement will be poured in this area after the New Year.
There is no work planned for the week between Christmas and New Years.

Eastside Street Utility and Streetscape Improvements:
Work on Eastside Street, south of Richmond Avenue, is continuing this week at a steady pace. The new pavement scheduled for the southbound lane has been rescheduled, but will be poured this Wednesday and Thursday.  The contractor will begin the new pavement in the cul-de-sac and work toward Richmond Avenue.

Roadway improvements north of Alabama Street are also moving quickly. This week the contractor will complete the storm sewer on the east half of the road and begin preparing the sub-grade for new roadway paving. New concrete for roadway paving will occur soon after the New Year.
There is no work planned for the week between Christmas and New Years.

Traffic lane closures for this week on Eastside Street include:
1. Eastside Street between Westheimer and  Alabama will be closed to through-traffic until February 24, 2018.
