Lincoln Continental Mark V
It was just a matter of time before the car collecting audience would recognize the beauty & importance of the Mark V. Produced from 1977 to 1979, it was the largest & most luxurious car of he late 70's with designer editions from such revered design houses like Pucci, Bill Blass, Givenchy and Cartier (Mommy had this one!). So famous in its day, even Jock Ewing owned one on the tv series Dallas. It truly represented the height of luxury & was the most expensive car offered during its production. The Power of Style; Verdura at 75
This Fall, to mark its 75th Anniversary on New York's Fifth Avenue, Verdura will present The Power of Style: Verdura at 75, a retrospective exhibition featuring over 150 jewels created by the master jeweler Duke Fulco di Verdura.  The exhibition will be curated by three internationally admired style-makers: Carolina and Reinaldo Herrera, longtime friends of Verdura, and their daughter Patricia Lansing. The Power of Style: Verdura at 75 will be the most important retrospective exhibition in the history of the company and will be open to the public from October 14 thru December 23 at 745 Fifth Avenue, in a new gallery space adjacent to the company's flagship.

Reiss London. Now in NYC!
What a pleasure it was to meet the US Store Director of Reiss, Felicity Nixon, at a recent fashion event.
I complimented her gorgeous capelet and became fast friends over a glass (or two) of champagne. If you don't know Reiss, definitely take a look at one of their New York shops. I discovered them over 20 years ago in London & am so happy to see them on this side of the pond.

Sergio Mendes is back!
Having grown up in a house where my parents often entertained with Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66 chicly playing in the background (picture Mom in a lovely chiffon cocktail dress and Dad in a handsome dinner jacket) I'm so happy my old musical friend is back with a brand new CD aptly titled "Magic"!
Sergio brought magic to the ears of mid-century America from his homeland of Brazil, and after 35 albums, 3 Grammy awards and an Oscar nomination, he has clearly still got it.
