The North Broad Renaissance (NBR), in partnership with Econsult Solutions, Inc. (ESI), has released the 2017 State of North Broad report. The report was made public during the annual State of North Broad fundraiser, and is used to support NBR's #ThinkBroad movement to promote economic development in the North Broad area.

ESI conducted a holistic review of the area in order to gain a better understanding on a number of subjects pertaining to the residents of the North Broad census tracts and North Broad corridor. The report shows that the area has a number of favorable attributes and advantages over the rest of the city including a significant number of young, educated residents, greater population growth than the city as a whole and increases in housing prices. It concludes that the economic revitalization of North Broad Street will ultimately be driven by growth and development.

Smart City 2025: A Vision and Business Plan for the Future

In November ESI President Richard Voith and ThoughtLab CEO Louis Celi traveled to Barcelona to take part in the 2017 Smart Cities Expo. There they met with corporate and city leaders, who confirmed the need for rigorous economic research that will provide the business case, financing plan, and roadmap to becoming a smarter city of the future.

We are delighted to announce that we will be conducting the research in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania's Institute for Urban Research and the Smart Cities Council. Accenture, Oracle, and Cognizant have agreed to sponsor the research, and we are now actively seeking to involve other companies across the smart city ecosystem, from mobility and infrastructure to energy and finance.  For further information, click here
