Town Hosts 12th Annual "Tour de Parks" Bike Ride
It was a beautiful day in Cutler Bay on Saturday, February 10, for the Town's 12th Annual "Tour de Parks" Bike Ride. Residents and neighbors gathered at Lakes by the Bay Park to enjoy 70-degree weather while participating in the nine (9) mile Police escorted bike ride. This year's route toured the following Parks: Lakes by the Bay Park, Saga Bay Park, Saga Lake Park, and Blue Heron Park.
Social Media Training Day in Cutler Bay
On Thursday, February 22nd, the Town hosted the Florida League of Cities Social Media Training Session. Social media has not only changed our use of familiar words, but continues to alter the way we communicate with our residents and each other. Practical advice on social media was provided along with how to avoid some of the common pitfalls as both participants and as consumers through the development of sound policy for both elected officials and staff in the Town. 
Disaster Preparedness and Response Course
On February 22nd, 24th, and 25th, the Town hosted a free Community Emergency Response Team Basic Training (CERT). The training taught participants how to identify hazards that affect your home, workplace, and neighborhood and how to understand the functions of CERTs and their role in immediate disaster response.

Families Enjoy Town's First Movie Night of 2018 Featuring "Spider-Man: Homecoming"
On Friday, February 23, 2018 the Town hosted a fun family friendly movie night featuring "Spider-Man: Homecoming," a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. 
 
Town Hosts Shred-A-Thon for Residents
On Saturday, February 24th, the Town hosted the Inaugural Shred-A-Thon event for residents to bring personal and confidential documents to be safely shredded. A truck was provided onsite, in the Town Center parking lot for residents to bring boxes of old documents to shred. It was a beautiful day for residents to gather and ensure the protection and safety of their identity.

Town's Youth Council Committee Visit State Capital
On February 25th and 26th, the Town's Youth Council Committee visited Tallahassee, Florida with Mayor Peggy R. Bell and Town Manager Rafael G. Casals. For two (2) days, the committee members were immersed in the legislative process, watching firsthand how policies are created and implemented.
 
Town Receives $15,000 AARP Community Challenge Grant to Install Outdoor Fitness Equipment
On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, the Town hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the installation of outdoor fitness equipment at Cutler Ridge Park. This project was made possible by a $15,000 Community Challenge Grant from the AARP. Last year, for the first-ever AARP Community Challenge, AARP invested nearly $780,000 to create change and improve the quality of life for people of all ages in communities nationwide. AARP received 1,200 applications, resulting in a highly competitive process, and Cutler Bay was one of the 88 selected communities.

Town Hosts Miami-Dade County League of Cities Board Meeting
On Thursday, March 1st, the Town hosted the Miami-Dade County League of Cities Board Meeting. Elected Officials from all over Miami-Dade County came to Town Center for their monthly Board Meeting, and enjoyed a night with entertainment provided by Cutler Bay Senior High School's SharkPAC.

Cutler Bay Mobile App
This user friendly mobile app gives residents access to the latest news and events happening in the Town. Residents can also use the app to report any issues or concern via their phone. Residents can download the app for free in the iTunes Store or Google Play by searching "Cutler Bay FL"


Crime Mapping
The Town and Miami-Dade Police Department utilize CrimeMapping to help law enforcement provide the public with valuable information about recent crime activity in their neighborhoods. Crime data is uploaded on a daily basis so that the information being viewed by residents is only a few days old. To view crime trends in your neighborhood, please visit www.crimemapping.com


Community on Patrol (COP) App
The Town and Miami-Dade Police Department offer the Community on Patrol (COP) App to allow the residents of Miami-Dade to be on patrol in their neighborhoods and report any suspicious activity to the Town's Policing Unit.  The COP App can be downloaded for free in the iTunes Store or Google Play by searching "Community on Patrol"

Nextdoor
Nextdoor is a website that makes it easy to communicate with your neighbors about the issues that matter most in your community. The website allows neighbors to share recommendations about local services, organize neighborhood events and connect with parents and other groups in the neighborhood. The Town's Policing Unit staff uploads neighborhood alters through Nextdoor. Nextdoor protects you, your information, and your neighborhood. To join your Nextdoor neighborhood, please visit www.nextdoor.com 

Miami-Dade Transit Tracker
Miami-Dade County Transit, which updates the Town's Circulator Bus Service, encourages you to utilize the Miami-Dade Transit Tracker App to help track your ride and plan your trip. The program allows riders to attain real-time tracking of the Town's Municipal Circulator, Metrobus and Metrorail. The App also provides fare information, Miami-Dade Transit contacts, bus schedules, and connecting buses.
