Much of my family is Lutheran, and I was baptized in a Lutheran church in Indianapolis.  The witness of many faithful friends led me to ask more questions and grow more interested in the Catholic faith, and my fiancĂ©e Hope especially has inspired and encouraged me to dive deeper into my faith and the Catholic tradition. I also have been intrigued by online commentaries by Bishop Robert Barron; in many ways these lit a fire in my heart and mind that has drawn me to Catholicism.

When Hope and I moved to the Lakeview/Lincoln Park area last year, we attended Mass at St. Josaphat one Sunday, and were quickly drawn in by the friendliness of the parish community, the beauty of the church, and the reverence of the liturgy. St. Josaphat has been a wonderful place for Hope and I to pray together and grow in our faith, and I feel privileged to take part in the RCIA program here. We are getting married here at St. Josaphat this summer.

It has been inspiring and enlightening to hear and learn about different individuals' backgrounds and questions regarding faith and the Church, and our catechists have done an excellent job answering our questions and providing compelling information and explanations on a variety of topics. I am very grateful for how this process has strengthened my knowledge of the Church, and deepened my prayer life and relationship with God.

After Easter, I am excited to take part in the sacramental life of the Church even more fully, and to continue intellectual exploration into all different aspects of our faith lives. I look forward to seeing how God's graces will operate in my life and in the lives of my family, friends, and all others, and I will strive to continue growing in relationship with Jesus Christ.
