Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Sunday Church - Youth In Christ:
This weekend we've planned a very special treat. From 9 to 10am on Sunday our friends, "Youth In Christ," from United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm will join us in the 411 Building to present an original worship offering. Their theme this year: "GIVE."
St. Paul gives this counsel in his first letter to the church in Corinth: "Do everything in love." 1 Corinthians 16.14. The musicians & actors of Prairie Farm will be bringing this message to life through song, skit, readings & prayer. Invite your friends and neighbors - this is an energetic, sacred event you won't want to miss. We will have the opportunity to support the outreach of Y.I.C. through a freewill offering at the close of our time.

Satellite Worship - Update
Beginning this Monday, March 12the installation crew from ESG will be back on site all week long to complete their work in the 411 Building as well as in two additional communities where we'll be streaming worship from Living Water: Minong and Bruce. If you're driving by, see their trucks and can take a moment, please stop in, have a look and ask them any questions. Like us, they're excited about this project and the new ground we're breaking together; reaching out in the name of Jesus to our neighbors in nearby faith communities. All of these, churches who are struggling with the challenge of pulling together the necessary resources to call a pastor of their own.

Living for Jesus!

Chicken Coop Church
This past week I had the privilege of joining a retreat with my fellow seminary students and members from the Candidacy Committee of the NW Synod of WI. Part of the journey of becoming a pastor involves regularly checking in with this team of caring leaders to make sure we're all on track, giving and receiving the mutual support and encouragement that's needed to become and be an ordained clergy. Was a great day with friends, new and old. Jesus Loves You! - Pr. Peter
JAM (Jesus And Me)
Little Jammers - Miss Leah
Middle Jammers - Mrs. Fiamoncini
Big Jammers will stay in church with their families. The  United Lutheran - Prairie Farm's, Youth in Christ will be with us to lead worship. We think it would be beneficial and fun for our 2nd-4th graders to stay during worship and watch the high schoolers lead the service.
Wednesday Worship
There are tons of important ways we can prepare our hearts for Easter. At Living Water, one of the most intentional is our weekly community meal & worship. Every Wednesday we're served up a simple supper of soup & sandwiches, followed by Holden Evening Prayer in the Worship Center. This year we have a very special treat: weekly installments from a ficticious family as they struggle with the very real-life issues raised by Jesus and his ministry. Here's how it shakes out:
Soup & Sandwiches: 5:30-6:30pm
Worship: 6:30-7pm
Kids Stranger Danger & Women's Self Defense Classes - This Sunday!
Sensei Brown of Brown's Karate Academy will be teaching two very important classes on Sunday, March 11th after worship. The first class is Kids Stranger Danger from 11am-Noon. Cost is $10 per kid. This class will teach kid about bullies, strangers and how to build confidence. Immediately following will be the Women's Self Defense class from Noon-2pm. Cost is $30 per woman. This class is meant to help women how to be aware of their surroundings, what to do with in situations, and hands-on moves. Pre-registration links are on our FB page and walk-in's are welcome. Do not miss these classes as they are very informational!
Cast & Crew of AMP - Rehearsal Info
We will gather once again this Sunday after church to sing with the background CD.  Please remember to bring your word and staging sheets.  We will be digging deep into the songs, so please make every effort to practice diligently this week!
Bake Sale For Babies -
Sunday, March 18th

In just over a week, Caleb Gillett is hosting a bake sale after church for his Grade 8, Serving Others project. The purpose of the fundraiser will be to purchase two brand new high chairs for the LW CafĂ©. Thanks in advance for supporting Caleb's mission project!
New Bible Study Coming:
Run for God's 5K Challenge
Join us in the exciting, new small group for Run for God's 5K Challenge!  Run for God's 5K Challenge is a 12-week Bible study program that allows runners to combine faith and endurance training in a way that helps take people, even those who have never run, through their first 5K.  This group will be part Bible study and part training program. The primary goal is to learn to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ while understanding the parallels of enduring a sport like running and enduring your faith. Check out the sign up sheet on Clipboard Central, or contact Julie Emerson for more info!
LW JAM Easter Celebration
You are invited to a LW JAM Easter Celebration on Saturday, March 24th from 2-4pm. This event is open to o ur JAM kids and their families. We will have  crafts, games, snacks, and an Easter egg hunt! Please note that there will not be JAM on Easter Sunday. We will run a playgroup for our 2 year old-4K kids. The rest of the children will stay with their families during church on Easter.  Questions? Contact Christine Ebner  [email protected]  or 715-296-1890
Ruby's Closet Helpers
We will be gathering on Thursday, March 15, at 10am to set up Ruby's Closet for the March distribution!   All are welcome to come fellowship with an awesome group of believers serving others through Christ!   -Janine
Ruby's Closet Donations
We have had a community member contact us about a large amount of donations they will be bringing to Ruby's Closet for the month of March because they are moving.  Therefore, I ask that only those who have already contacted me about donating this month be the only people who bring items so we don't run out of space.  Any questions, please see Janine.
Save Your UPC Codes
Luther Bible Camp is collecting "Our Family" brand UPC codes off grocery items.  Throughout 2018 any UPC codes you collect (we do not need the entire label, just the physical UPC code) will be sent to Luther Park and your donations will be turned into money for programs they do on Lake Chetek.  A collection container will be in the back of church.  Thank you for supporting this important resource for both children and adults.
A Mother's Passion: The Passion of Christ Through Mary's Eyes
Please join us for "A Mother's Passion:  The Passion of Christ Through Mary's Eyes".  This emotionally raw updated production of the Good Friday story, arranged by Janine Hansen (in loving memory of her son, Auhston Hansen 1983-2015), will be told through modern song and staging.   Performances will be held at Living Water Church on Wed, March 28 through Fri, March 30 at 7pm, with a dessert reception to follow each night.   Admission is free (with a free will offering to benefit family tragedies). Powerful new songs (and some new faces) will captivate your heart. Come lose yourself in this age-old story of Christ's journey to the Cross.
Church of Felons - Film Screening: Friday, April 27th
Rice Lake area churches are working together to make possible a showing of the film, "Church of Felons." Please see Clipboard Central on how to participate as either a volunteer or film attendee.

We'd totally love to get your family's photo up on the LW family board. Openings: 1 hour before worship and 1 hour after. Say cheese!

Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Names: Sherman, Lisa & Ryder Armstrong
Something interesting about our household:
We have been married almost 16 years and Sherman and Ryder are die hard Packer fans! (Lisa cheers for the Pack to support her guys!) Lisa had a stem cell transplant in 2015 for an extremely rare, incurable cancer of the plasma cells, and is currently in full remission. We just recently bought a house and moved to Barron! Come visit us!
How we became connected to Living Water:
Lisa signed Ryder up for Bible School and it was such a fun experience - We loved how much they focused on the kids and how family friendly and welcoming the entire event was. We weren't entirely happy with Ryder's current Sunday School so when we heard that Living Water's Sunday school kick off Sunday was a week before our current one, Lisa decided to bring Ryder and we loved it so much we never looked back.
What we like about Living Water:
When Lisa was considering bringing Ryder for that first JAM kickoff, she almost didn't because she found out Sunday school is during church which meant she would have to attend and we were NOT looking for a church. It was important to her to find a good Sunday school for him so she decided she would go and just sit in the back. What she didn't know was that the people of LW don't let you "just sit in the back". They welcomed us with big smiles, hearty handshakes and made us feel like we were part of a family. Sherman came too a couple Sundays later and we've been here ever since. Lisa is even the Office Administrator for Living Water now (so much for sitting on the back bench!!). It's like a big family here, they welcome everyone with genuine love, they contribute generously to the community and kids are dearly loved and welcomed - that's what we love about Living Water.
