CONGRATULATIONS GABRIELLA

Aurora Grace born this week

Congratulations to our Childrens' Chapel leader, Gabriella, who gave birth to her new daughter, Aurora Grace, this week. Aurora entered this world at a healthy 6 lbs 4 oz and 19" in length. Mother and daughter are doing fine!

Children's Chapel/Sunday School will be on hiatus for a few weeks.

A MESSAGE FROM FR. DAVID

"So must the Son of Man be lifted up, that all who believe may have eternal life in Him." (John 3:14,15)

Reflection

Faith always takes us on a journey beyond the obvious and tangible. This was often lacking in those who experienced Jesus and His teachings. When He spoke of offering His Body and Blood, they exclaimed: "How can this man give us flesh to eat?" They totally missed the spiritual dimension of His words and message. He was pointing them to a higher realm of understanding, while they chose to remain on an earthly level leading only to darkness and death.
Faith does not come easy. While we see and know people for whom faith seems like second nature, for many of us it is a gift that reveals itself only with the utmost diligence and care. It usually begins to appear in times of transition, distress and/or sickness, for it is in moments like these that the Lord is able to get our attention long enough, so that we can hear His voice above the noise and confusion of our daily lives. Whenever trouble breaks into the serenity of our daily existence, we can be sure the Divine potter is at work trying to mold us into something beautiful. ....Fr. Dominic P. Irace

Pray for those who are being persecuted for their faith or race. Say thank you to one of your former teachers or someone who has made a positive impact on your life.

ADULT FORUM WITH DR. BILL STANCIL

Sunday, March 18 and March 25

Dr. Bill Stancil, Professor of Theology & Religious Studies at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, will be with us again on Sunday, March 18 and also Sunday, March 25 to lead a discussion on The Great Sacraments of the Church at the Adult Forum, beginning at 9:15 am in the Undercroft.

March 18: Baptism: "Initiated into Christ"

March 25: Eucharist: "Nurtured by Christ"

INQUIRERS CLASS

Tuesdays at 6:30 pm

Our current Inquirers Class will continue every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm until March 20. This class is a prerequisite for anyone wishing to be confirmed (ages 11 and up). Area Confirmation will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 2 pm at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Everyone is welcome to come to the class to learn about the Episcopal Church! Remaining classes are:

UNITED THANK OFFERING (UTO)

Lenten Discipline

The Outreach Committee is sponsoring a United Thank Offering during Lent (February 14 through March 29). Please consider taking a UTO box and prayer from the narthex. The UTO box is intended to hel

p us recognize our many daily blessings. As you become aware of a simple or great blessing God has provided, you are encouraged t

o say a prayer of thanksgiving and recognize God's grace with an offering placed in your family's UTO box.

The boxes should all be returned to church on Easter or the following Sunday. Funds collected will be used by the Diocese to support ministries at home and overseas.

LENTEN ECUMENICAL DINNER AND SERVICE

Wednesday, March 14 at All Saints Lutheran Church

The next scheduled Blue Springs Lenten Ecumenical dinner and service is on Wednesday, March 14 at the All Saints Lutheran Church located at 7421 SW 19th Street. The event begins with a simple common meal at 6 pm, followed by a short worship service at 6:40 pm. All offerings are donated to the Community Services League. This year's theme is "Who are we as a

church and what does the futur e hold?"

Please bring small wrapped candy for the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday! Your contribution is appreciated and can be left in the Children's Chapel or on the table in the Narthex.
