Congregation Forum/Debate on the "Escalating Income Inequity" Statement of Conscience (SOC), Sun Mar 11, 11:40am, Fellowship Hall
The SOC was adopted by the UUA to address growing income inequality in the US. Should CUUC endorse the statement? Should we revise it and then adopt it? Undoing Racism® Community Organizing Workshop, Thu Apr 19 - Sat Apr 21, Ethical Culture Society, 7 Saxon Wood Road, White Plains
An intensive workshop by the Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond that is designed to educate, challenge, and empower people to undo the racist structures that hinder effective social change. Wind energy is pretty simple. The energy in wind turns the turbine's fan blades around a rotor that is connected to the main shaft, which itself spins a generator to create electricity. Green energy!

Share the Plate for March: Furniture Sharehouse  
 
We share half our non-pledge collection this month with Furniture Sharehousewhich provides free furniture to economically disadvantaged individuals and families in Westchester. Their clients include those moving out of homeless shelters into permanent housing; battered women and children escaping domestic violence; working families struggling to stay above the poverty line; young adults aging out of foster care; and victims of fires or other natural disasters. Since it's founding in 2007, the charity has helped over 4,000 households/12,000 individuals, and distributed more than 66,00 pieces of furniture with a value of almost $4 million.
