Tell State Budget Leaders to Support School Breakfast!

Budget leaders will soon be making decisions about how our state funds programs that affect the health and success of California kids. CFPA is requesting one million dollars annually over five years in the 2018-19 budget in order to extend California's successful Breakfast After the Bell Expansion grants The budget request is expected be heard by the Assembly and Senate Budget Subcommittees on Education Finance over the next two months.

The 2018 CalFresh Forum is Less than One Week Away!

CDFA Secretary Karen Ross to Keynote  Farm Bill Session 
CA Secretary of Agriculture Karen Ross

We are thrilled to announce that  California Secretary of Agriculture Karen Ross will offer an opening plenary to the CalFresh Forum Farm Bill breakout session. 

Secretary Ross has deep leadership experience in agricultural issues nationally, internationally, and here in California. Prior to joining CDFA in 2011, Secretary Ross was chief of staff for U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, a position she accepted in 2009. 

Secretary Ross will address the importance of protecting California agriculture and ensuring a strong SNAP/CalFresh program in the next Farm Bill.
