Volume 8, Issue #10 - March 8, 2018

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
Don't be late for church!
Before you go to bed Saturday night, set your clocks ahead one hour.
THE CAPITAL PLAZA TOWER IMPLOSION will occur this Sunday, March 11, at approximately 1:30 p.m. We expect no impact here at the church, but just in case - due to our proximity to the blasting zone - we have (today) documented the current condition of our buildings , interior and exterior, with an extensive series of photographs.

Can You Help? There may be some early-birds who want to park and watch the implosion from our property. If you can volunteer to watch/guard our parking lot before the 10:30 service, to help keep it clear for church parking, please contact Jim King immediately ( jimkingfft@hotmail.com ).

For more information about the implosion and a traffic circulation map, see http://capitalplaza.ky.gov - NOTE: "The actual implosion will occur in less than 30 seconds. There will be some nearby roadways temporarily closed beginning no later than 12:30 p.m. They will be reopened once the all clear sign is given, which should be approximately 15 minutes after the implosion."

From the Frankfort Plant Board: "[We] will air the demolition of the Capital Plaza Tower live next Sunday, March 11, on [television] channels 10 and 510, and on Facebook live [ https://www.facebook.com/fewpb/] . The building will come down at 1:30 p.m. Tune in at 1:00 p.m. so you won’t miss any of the action."
BOOK SIGNING: Tuesday, March 20, 7-9 p.m. at Joseph Beth Bookstore, Lexington Green, Lexington, Ky. You are invited to join author Kay Collier McLaughlin for as she signs and reads from her latest book, Talking Together: Getting Beyond Polarization Through Civil Dialogue .   Published in November 2017, this book is "a resource guide of specific theories translated into exercises individuals and groups can practice to develop the skills that make respectful, civil and effective conversation possible whether in agreement or disagreement in ways which can transform the anger and negativity in our world into healthy communion and community."
EASTER LILY ORDERS - You are invited to sponsor a potted Easter lily to honor someone special in your life. The lilies will be used to decorate the church on Easter Sunday (you may claim yours to take home later if you wish), and dedications will be listed in the Easter bulletin and eWeekly. Order/dedication forms are now available on tables in the church and hallway - or click here for a printable PDF form . Please return completed forms with payment to the office no later than Wednesday, March 28.
