CDG is finishing the year strong. In 2017's Fourth Quarter, we have continued to keep a full schedule in all of our divisions and are looking forward to more work in the coming year.
Below is a summary of what we've been up to this quarter.
|
Over the last several years CDG has made a special effort to focus on management and ownership transition as several of the original owners and managers progress to semi and full retirement. This process has gone better than expected. CDG has gained new stockholders and managers that have assumed expanded duties. It's now time for me to start planning for my retirement, which begins with my reduced schedule and semi-retirement during 2018.
I'm pleased to announce that Jay Ellington will assume the duties as President of CDG on January 1. He's been part of our ownership and management group for over 15 years, and he brings skills in business development, electrical engineering and corporate management to his new position. We are very fortunate to have Jay, and the other members of our executive committee and management, on the job and working to keep CDG vibrantly healthy and growing. I will continue to be part of the management team this coming year as I transition to spending more time traveling, playing with my grandkids, and improving my struggling golf game.
Please join me in congratulating Jay on his new position, and wish him well in bringing CDG to new levels of great success!

Our engineers have access to the latest technologies that allow them to design, test, purchase and customize software; provide in-house training and support; and produce renderings and animations to evaluate everything from chute wear and dust mitigation to conveyor transfers and more.
In addition to producing 3D animations, our technology department has expertise in a variety of scanning services. We offer
LiDAR scanning and
drone services with further capabilities in virtual and augmented reality, and 360-degree photos and videos.
Some of our capabilities include:
- Assembly/Operational Animations;
- Rendered Design Solutions Merged with Photo Images;
- Geometric Volume & Mass Studies;
- Stockpile and Cut & Fill Volume Calculations;
- Material Flow Simulations; and
- Structural & Mechanical Systems Assembly.

Partnering with STCCC's Career Explorations Alliance
|
CDG hosted four students who were able to spend time with civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as architects and design technology professionals. It is our hope that they experienced what a real work day is like for an A/E employee.

CDG held our annual Christmas party on December 9th at the
9th Street Abbey in
Soulard. Dinner and drinks were provided by
Patty Long Catering, and they did not disappoint, especially the desserts! The setting was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and employees and guests arrived in their finest attire. Service awards were celebrated during the evening, and guests had an opportunity to get silly in a holiday themed photo booth. A good time was had by all.

Giving to St. Martha's Hall |
Christmas is a time of giving, and CDG employees have been generously donating to
St. Martha's Hall, a not-for-profit organization that provides shelter for abused women and their children, for over 20-years! This year with the help of everyone at our office headquarters, we donated 6 large bags of toys and clothing to the kids of St. Martha's. For more information on St. Martha's and its mission to break the cycle of
domestic violence, visit the website
here.

Did we mention we're busy? As our substantial workload continues into 2018, we are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following full-time positions:
Becoming part of the CDG team has its perks. Not only does our company offer a competitive salary and 401K savings, but employees are also offered maternity/paternity leave among other things.
