Alexa recommends:
MIles takes you down the miraculous recovery and whirlwind journey of Cameron Harris, a veteran suffering from paralysis. Masked as a "true story", Miles had me duped and mesmerized for the entire reading of the novel -- through Harris's crisis, reality TV career, self reflection and acceptance. Stunningly written, I found myself "walking" with Harris to self identity.
Kym recommends:
Cassie is an international flight attendant and a binge drinker, frequently waking up not knowing where she is, or who she's with. One morning, she wakes up in Dubai next to a dead body. As a single woman in Dubai, she's afraid to call the police, so quietly leaves the hotel. She lies to her fellow flight attendants on her next flight, and
to the FBI agents in New York who meet her at the gate.
Soon it's too late to come clean-or face the truth about what really happened back in Dubai. Could she have killed him? If not, who did?
Sarah recommends:
Mary Shelley was a fascinating woman and Lita Judge's biography in verse, paired with exquisite illustrations, is gripping, chilling and intense. A powerful and beautiful read! (Ages 15+)

Wednesday, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day; four years ago, one local family started doing Random Acts of Kindness to help spread acceptance and advocacy for their son Gus and all their friends with a bonus chromie. Consider participating by performing your own random acts of kindness on March 21st. The world can always use a little more kindness and joy, especially when it brings awareness and support for our friends and neighbors!
