The Geography of Millennial Talent
New research by Brookings Institution demographer William Frey takes a close look at the geography of older Millennials, those aged 25 to 34, with a college degree or more. Contrary to popular perception, Millennials are fairly evenly distributed among urban areas, mature suburbs, and exurbs. Which places are attracting the most Millennial talent? Boston and Madison top the list with a whopping 58 percent of their Millennials holding college degrees. Next in line come San Jose and San Francisco, and then Washington, DC. There are some surprises. Minneapolis-St. Paul and Denver have larger shares of Millennial than Seattle and Austin. CityLab
Another Quiet 'Blarney' Weekend
The annual "Blarney" celebrations at the University of Massachusetts were contained and limited in terms of rowdiness this year, with extensive security measures in place. In years past, the weekend has entailed large groups of students celebrating St. Patrick's Day the weekend before spring break. Day drinking in local bars and off-campus housing complexes has been a campus safety concern. In 2014, 55 people were arrested and several were injured during the year's renowned "Blarney Blowout." Town manager Paul Bockelman said in a press release, "Our success in addressing this challenge underscores the importance of our partnership with the University." Daily Collegian

Block22 Apartments 80 Percent Full in Less Than Two Weeks
More than 80 students have signed up to live at Block22, which features 97 apartments within four historic buildings. "Our advice to students who hope to live at Block22: sign up fast," said Pittsburg State Chief Strategy Officer Shawn Naccarato. We've always believed that Block22 would be an attractive housing option for students, but I'm not sure that even we thought we'd be 80 percent full in less than two weeks." Pearson, the first Pittsburg State student to sign a contract, said, "The location is amazing and I love that they're preserving the historical aspects of the buildings." Students who have already signed up said one of the main draws is the opportunity to live downtown. Pittsburg State University
Courting the Workforce of the Future
Norman is a college town, but a group of young professionals aim to let future University of Oklahoma graduates know that it's a lot more than just a college town. Norman NEXT will host its second annual Live.Work.Play. #LoveNorman event in downtown Norman. The event is free, open to college students and young professionals, and will feature more than 30 new and returning booths that will introduce attendees to local employers, shopping, dining, festivals, arts, real estate options and other facets of the city that may be unknown to those whose Norman existence has been largely limited to campus. The Big Event Unites Town, Gown
On Saturday, March 24th, more than 2,000 college students from FAMU, FSU and TCC will rally to express their gratitude for the Tallahassee community. The Big Event is an annual occasion that incorporates service-oriented activities for students, faculty and sponsors to share with residents of their college town. Joe Nussbaum, SGA Vice President at Texas A&M University in 1982, started the tradition. Nussbaum believed that this was the least students could do as a "thank you" to local residents and businesses. FSU's student government has adopted the idea as the official event for community service. The Famuan
