BEST Robotics Makes History at Regionals!
Congratulations to STEM's BEST Robotics Team, who placed 3rd at Regionals this past weekend at the Rocky Mountain BEST Regional Competition! This was their best finish ever at the Regional level. The team's robot took 6th place. The team also took 1st place in Software Design, and won the Simulink Award, which included a prize check for $1,000.

After working tirelessly since August, the season is now over for the team, who will de-brief the season and look ahead to the next season in Fall of 2018!

A special shout-out to coach Nikki Baird for leading the team this season and to all of our amazing parent mentors and volunteers.

STEM Choir Performance
Earlier this month, STEM's Enrichment Choir joined The Vocal COalition in concert at Syntax Physic Opera, Denver.

This amazing event featured Denver band musicians Ian Cooke, Ivory Circle and Dan Aid, who work closely with VoCO, and its founders Travis Branam and Katy Lushman.

Thanks to STEM Choir for their commitment to a concert and extra rehearsals in Denver. We hope to bring one VoCO appearance to Highlands Ranch next semester.   Check out their website here. A new semester of MS/HS Choir will begin in January! Keep an eye on the Enrichment page for registration!

"Tops for Tots" Effort
STEM TSA is collecting soda can tabs to help the Ronald McDonald Charities, helping families with sick children find support and comfort. We just held our first school-wide contest amongst the students to find out who can bring in the most tops. We will host another round of competition between classes in the coming months, so keep collecting those tops!

Fleece for Fighters
For the third year in a row, STEM TSA is joining the statewide effort to make fleece blankets for kids with pediatric cancer in the "Fleece for Fighters" campaign. Our goal is 500 blankets! Last year, STEM made 261 blankets. You can help in one of three ways: making blankets, donating money, or donating supplies. For more information, click HERE
