The tax reform legislation that is currently making its way through Congress has many moving parts and some of them had the potential to affect the catch-up provisions available through Ohio DC. To protect those important savings tools for our participants, we worked with an Ohio coalition that included Ohio pension systems, the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) as well as Ohio Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman. You can learn more about this effort through the NAGDCA legislative alert here.
Be Sure Your Pay Dates Are Correct
You have the option to send your employee deferral information in via mail or the Ohio Business Gateway, and either method works great, but it's essential that we have your correct pay dates around year-end. We need to match your pay records for tracking annual deferral totals, so be sure to let us know if any of our billing dates are incorrect.

No Gifts Please, It's the Law
As the holiday season is upon us, Ohio Deferred Compensation reminds employers, vendors, and other business contacts not to send gifts. The Program's staff are public employees subject to certain restrictions under Ohio Ethics Law. Program staff cannot accept articles of value, including gifts, travel, meals, or lodging from parties doing, or seeking to do business with, or interested in matters before the Program.
Please do not send any gifts to the Program office or to individual staff members. Any gifts will be returned as refused, no matter how minimal in nature. We ask all current and potential business partners to adhere to these Ohio Ethics mandates.
Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.
