16th Annual Career Fair: Monday, March 12
Vocations will be on display at the 16th Annual Career Fair, which will be held in the Fieldhouse for students on Monday, March 12. Students will have the opportunity to speak with professionals from a variety of careers, including doctors, reporters, lawyers, engineers, architects, social workers, dentists, bankers, photographers and government officials. Students are expected to speak with at least three exhibitors to get their questions answered about future careers. The day is rewarding for exhibitors as well, as they provide inspiration to students and promote their vocations to the next generation. Exhibitors are treated to breakfast and lunch, and they receive a special thank you gift from the HFPA. For more details about the event - or if you are interested in being an exhibitor this year - please contact Mrs. Lueder at 708-335-5605.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
On Feb. 26, the H-F Mock Trial team toured the State of Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County at the Daley Center in Chicago - the main courthouse of one of the largest unified court systems in the nation. Students learned about the trial process and legal system by visiting a courtroom to view a trial in session. Students witnessed the direct examination and cross examination of the defendant in a medical malpractice lawsuit. Following the trial, students learned about how to pursue a career in law, when they engaged in a question and answer session with a sitting judge and various practicing attorneys. Attending the trip were s eniors   Amanda Fieramosca, Folashade Olumola, Armahri Brown, Rose Sammons & Summer Kane juniors  Eniola Oyefeso, Gillian Vinson & Asha Dowell; and s ophomores:   Kai Offett & Mikal Mandichak with their sponsor, Mrs. Schmidt , Social Science teacher.
