Stronger together... we lift each other up. We are SERRASTRONG!
And let us consider how to lift up one another, to love and good works
- Hebrews 10:24

A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT TRUDELL
GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a very special tradition here at St. Serra . We are looking forward to welcoming our 600+ guests tomorrow. Rain or shine, we are ready for their arrival and have made special accommodations to keep everyone as dry as possible should the weather not cooperate.

While we are encouraging all guests to carpool with their student(s), we do have parking available for those who will be driving on their own. After the parking lot is full, we will be parking cars on the inner road and on the field. We have also secured additional parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the campus.

We know that not all grandparents have the opportunity to travel to be with us on this special day. Back by popular demand, we will be broadcasting the Prayer Service using Facebook Live on the SJSC Facebook Page. The 45-minute prayer service will begin at approximately 8:25 a.m. PST, beginning with musical selections from our St. Serra Singers and Handbell Choir and ending with a special blessing over all of our guests.

We sincerely hope that this will allow any of your guests, who are unable to attend in person, the opportunity to share in the joy and happiness of this day at St. Serra. As a reminder here is the schedule for the day:

Day's agenda:
7:15 - 8:30 a.m.     Drop-off, Check-in and Hospitality
8:30 - 9:15 a.m.     Prayer Service with a Choir and Handbell Performance
9:15 - 11:15 a.m.   Guests Visit Classrooms
11:15 a.m.             Dismissal Begins

We look forward to welcoming all of our guests tomorrow!

LENTEN RECONCILIATION SERVICE, MONDAY, MARCH 5
Formal Uniform Required,  Grades 3-8

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one dedicated to experiencing the forgiveness of God our Father. On Monday, March 5, students will participate in our Lenten Reconciliation. We will begin with a prayer service at 9:00 a.m. followed by confessions for all students who have completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation in grades 3-8. This year we will have 14 priests attend confession held in the SAC. Any child who has not made the Sacrament of Reconciliation is asked if they wish to visit a priest for a simple blessing, it is their choice. We are so grateful for this time of forgiveness and preparation of our hearts as we await the celebration of Our Lord's Resurrection at Easter.

SERRASERVES
OneMeal Mission

During this Lenten Season we are called to do acts of almsgiving and mercy. The Corporal Works of Mercy take care of the needs of others. This special project announced here joins us as a community to practice feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, and clothing the naked -- three of the seven Corporal Works of Mercy.

SerraServes is proud to announce our FIRST St. Serra Community event! This event begins the week before Holy Week on Saturday, March 24, at 9:00 a.m. Join us as we set out to serve others - One Meal at a time! St. Serra will partner with Kids Around the World in our mission to help feed children in need all around the world. CLICK HERE for more information about this wonderful organization. The One Meal Mission is to meet the needs of starving children by empowering our community to serve. The packaged food will be shipped and distributed to trusted partners to ensure the food reaches hungry children in great need of our help.

Please keep a look out for the launch of our SerraServes donation page and volunteer sign up links coming soon! All St. Serra families are welcome to volunteer, as we come together and pack meals, assembly line style, in a unifying, fun and high-energy event. Please join us and/or donate to our meal packaging event.

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly , but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty."
-Maya Angelous

Here at St. Junipero Serra Catholic, many good things have happened through change over the past 23 years. We are very blessed.  Don't be afraid of change as it can bring beauty, just as the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly.

TUITION ASSISTANCE 2018-2019

It is a part of our mission and vision to provide a Catholic Education within the boundaries of our four parishes for all those who desire to be a part of St. Junipero Serra Catholic School. St. Serra is so grateful for the sacrifices our many families make to send their children to our Catholic School. We are also very appreciative of the significant number of benefactors who contribute to our  Tuition   Assistance   program on a regular basis. We want all current families to be able to remain at SJSC should financial issues present themselves, therefore we will once again offer  tuition  assistance  to those who qualify through our blind, third-party process.

Please note that it is important to your application process that you remain an active parishioner at your parish.

Once again this year, we will be working with FACTS, our online administrator for managing our  tuition  assistance application process.  Please  CLICK HERE   for more information and to access our Online Tuition Assistance Application.
