Hundreds explored the outdoors and hiked more than 1,200 miles all around during the first season of Centred Outdoors! Planning for the
2018 Season is well underway! Mark your calendars for the kick-off event on June 3rd!

Centred Outdoors Urban Hike during First Night!
The hike is free and suitable for all ages. We'll take a 1.25 mile stroll through town to admire the ice sculptures, permanent sculptures and local businesses that make downtown such an interesting place to visit and explore!

...conserve 300 acres of farmland
The Slab Cabin Run Initiative was a success! Together, we protected our region's drinking water, conserved 300 acres of iconic farmland, and made it possible to restore a portion of Slab Cabin Run.

...conserve Chicory Lane Farm
ClearWater Conservancy worked alongside John and Catherine Smith to permanently conserve Chicory Lane Farm and finalize the easement on July 25th. The 69+ acre property is an ecologically dynamic wonder nestled in the shadow of Brush Mountain just a couple miles east of Spring Mills. ClearWater is honored and delighted to be the holder of the perpetual conservation easement on Chicory Lane Farm.

...access $100,000 in DCNR grants!
ClearWater was awarded not one, but
two
$50,000 grants in December! The first was awarded for construction of approximately 12 acres of riparian forest buffers along waterways in the West Branch Susquehanna River, Juniata, and Susquehanna watersheds in Centre, Clinton and Huntingdon counties. The second grant was awarded to Centred Outdoors to reconnect citizens with the natural environment through targeted outreach and programming.

...restore 3.8 acres of stream bank on the Radzwich Farm
ClearWater Conservancy, volunteers, and partners restored 3.8 acres of stream bank along a tributary to the Beaver Branch of Spruce Creek. The WHM Group and Bud Snyder Excavating restored the stream banks on the Radzwich Farm by grading, rebuilding, and finally repairing them with toewood, rock, soil, willow cuttings, coconut mats, and native grasses. Thank you, Radzwich Family for your dedication and commitment to the health of the stream.
